Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she reportedly employed the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Context and Developments

Recently, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether he had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
