'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as many people's preferred choice to win the Premier League this season.

Consider their performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have beaten all of them in the current season, but dropped 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's defensive strength is a crucial element why they are appearing strong to finally fulfil their title goal.

They stand first for clean sheets (6), goals allowed (3), shots faced (72), shots on target faced (19) and xGA (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the best in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but rival sides still struggle to stop the Gunners from these situations.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Claims

What is particularly impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they keep winning, their traditional rivals face difficulties. This marks the initial occasion at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having allocated around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the most resilient defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Unbreached games in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have characterized Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now performing with conviction and purpose.
